Excellent customer service. Food is always delicious. I called in a dinner order for my family and EVERY TIME it's 20 minutes and ready and delicious . The steamed dumplings are delicious the sauce is addictive.

I've been to Wah Mei twice now. I have had several dishes from this place... The food was excellent, the staff were courteous and helpful, and when a minor mistake was made (they made a lunch instead of a dinner, which really wasn't a problem I thought I would be getting a lunch at that time of day anyway)... they apologized and offered to refund my money for the mistake (wow !!) Instead I added a soda onto my order and took my meal. ( I got the chicken with Garlic sauce - YUM !!) I was proven right again, the food was wonderful. the lunch was just enough to fill me, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Why didn't I give them 5 stars? Simply put, the seating space was hot (because it's open to the kitchen, so this is expected), and the tables and chairs are due for replacement (again this is understood in a mostly take-out place. I was not put off by it at all. I don't live in the area, but know people that do. I will be returning when I next visit :D
This Chinese restaurant has some really good food--we especially like their pork egg foo young with brown gravy, shrimp fried rice and sweet and sour chicken...
It's not often you associate a strip mall eatery with what would be the traditional association of a 4-wstar restaurant, but the truth is while Northeastern PA has a LOT of Chinese restaurants and buffets, it has a chronic shortage of actual GOOD Chinese restaurants. Wah Mei is definitely one of the good spots. This restaurant (more like a little café) has been in business for 20-plus years mainly because it does it right. There are 173 menu items and 20 combo specials of Szechuan and Cantonese styles. My personal favorites are the pepper steak and Hunan chicken. The dining area is small so definitely file this as a best for take-out spot. The hours are very convenient since it's open until 10:30 p.m. most days.
